This welfare committee visits Dutch migrants in the Illawarra area in hospital or at their home on special occasions such as birthdays (80 years and over) and weddinmg anniversaries (50 years and over). Their aim is to keep in contact with the elderly and to let them know, that we haven't forgotten them. They assist the elderly in good times and in difficult times.

Join us each Friday nights from 7.15pm to 9.30pm At The Dutch Australian Club, Princes Hwy., Woonona. (just south of the RSL Club)
Our members are of various national backgrounds who share a common interest in music, singing, fun and fellowship.
The choir was officially started in 1965 by Dutch migrants and is always happy to welcome new members.

Our News letter "het Kompas" is published monthly, except for January.
Our Subscription fee is $10 per annum, July to June and is payable to the treasurer,

Our Eucharistic Celebrations, mainly in the Dutch language are held
in the Cathedral Hall, Harbour Street Wollongong
Hymns are sung in Dutch.
From time to time the proper of the Mass is sung in Gregorian Chant.
Each Celebration is followed by a Get-together with light refreshments.
These celebrations are held approximately on a six weekly basis
All are welcome.
The CDMA found its origin in the early fifties to support the Dutch Chaplains in their work among the Dutch Migrants. Much of that work was family support, baptisms and marriages.
Nowadays it frequenty means visiting the elderly, the sick and bereavements.

Dutch Australia Society in the Illawarra (DASI)

The Dutch Australia Society in the Illawarra (DASI) was founded in 1952 and is affiliated with the Federation of Netherlands Societies. The club publishes a monthly newsletter "De Stuw".
The aim of DASI is to provide and maintain traditional Dutch cultural functions and provide activities for the elderly Dutch and Australian members
A number of well attended activities are offered by DASI members who volunteer their time and services:
Cards on Monday afternoon
Billiards on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
Pensioner group SVDO meets every second Wednesday
Social dance evenings
Traditional St. Nicholas party for children
Oranje Bal
Video afternoons
